Fun and Functional
I mainly work at the Dubliner Pub as a bartender. There, you can see me pouring a fine pint of Guinness or singing a sea shanty. I also help seasonally for an outdoor non profit as an educator and guide.
I try to find small pop up events around the twin cities of MN to sell pieces. I always value when someone can actually pick up and interact with my work. If you are curious about my next sale, Instagram, @larryraineriart is the best way to be in the loop.
My affinity with ceramics started in high school with John Nester. I completed a bachelor's of Art Education, emphasis Ceramics, from the University of Northern Iowa in 2010. Professor JoAnn Schnabel ran the ceramics program at the time. Back then,I did not pursue a BFA in ceramics. The amount of credit hours was close but I was too focused on completing my Ed. degree. As the years continued I collaborated with art centers, schools, and summer camps working with ceramics and many different age ranges.

My pottery is handmade at Northern light art studio in St. Paul. We are a collection of potters and painters who share wheels, space, and kilns. My pottery making would not be possible without the help of all those involved.
I really do try to embody a fun and functional kind of mentality. Each piece, even though it may share some similarities, is most often a one off creation. I have done some commission work in the past with matching pieces, and am open to ideas you may have. Just know that commission pieces take longer to fulfill when fitting in pottery between multiple jobs and hobbies.
